By 2018, we had outgrown our original space and moved to our current home in Victoria Mews, a calm and welcoming centre by the river in Shrewsbury town centre. The following year, in 2019, we founded The Sea Change Trust (registered charity no. 1181866) to offer early help and intervention that would be free at the point of delivery. Led by an independent board of trustees, the charity enables us to reach more families—particularly those with babies and toddlers—through community-based support.
During the pandemic, although our centre briefly closed, the work of the charity grew. With support from Children in Need and the government’s COVID-19 Mental Health Fund, we launched new programmes including ‘Buggy Walk and Talk’ in the Quarry Park and group sessions in primary schools for children facing transitions and anxieties after lockdown.
Since then, our Early Years Project has expanded to Pontesbury and Telford, and we’ve launched a Young Adults Project too, continuing our mission to offer effective, compassionate psychological support across the county.
A Specialist Psychotherapy Team
Our highly trained psychotherapists specialise in Child and Adolescent Analytic Psychotherapy, Art Psychotherapy, Adult Analytic Psychotherapy, Cognitive Analytic Psychotherapy, Counselling Psychology and Integrative Psychotherapy. Across both organisations, we work collaboratively to deliver thoughtful and compassionate care.
Early Intervention
We aim to address and treat issues in their early stages, reducing the likelihood of longer-term mental health difficulties. When children receive timely support they are better able to develop healthy coping mechanisms, build resilience to succeed socially and academically. Investing early fosters healthier, happier and more productive communities.
Costing Fairness
Services offered by Sea Change Psychotherapy are priced at a fair rate that supports a sustainable business model, with strong supervision and ongoing training for our team. Services delivered through The Sea Change Trust are free at the point of need, reflecting our shared commitment to finding the best support for every family, regardless of financial circumstances.
Community Facing
Our organisational strategy—across both the charity and the company—is rooted in responding to the evolving needs of our community. We listen closely to those we work with, using their insights to inform how we assess, plan, and grow our services.
